This Thursday we will be holding the first official Bahrain Blogfest, thanks to Haitham. We already have five people confirmed (including a visitor from Qatar!) and it would great to have even more people show up. Although it is was originally set up for bloggers in Bahrain, we thought it would be more fun to open it up to everyone in the Bahrain blogging community, which includes commenters and visitors. So all of you anonymous commenters and lurkers, please go and sign up here. We promise not to reveal your identity, and feel free to bring a friend along if you want. I'm really looking forward to finally meeting you all in person.
By the way, we had an unofficial mini-Blogfest at Mahmood's place when bonsaimark was on the island last month. It was just the three of us, but even then the diversity was great: a Bahraini, an American and a Pakistani of different age groups, all enjoying Burgerland shawarmas. Our meetup planned for this Thursday promises even more, with a Qatar-based American muslim convert, and the author of Bahrain's first novel in English.
So please do join us if you can! Get all of the details here: Bahrain Weblogger Meetup. See you Thursday!
