"Terror" suspects released

Tuesday, November 02, 2004

As Sparkle informed us yesterday, the remaining four "terror" suspects were released yesterday until their next court appearance on December 3. They had been detained for a total of more than 105 days. Needless to say, the US Embassy and the Fifth Fleet will not be pleased with this move, so don't be surprised if they get thrown in back in jail again. I know I've said this a million times before, but this case smells fishier than the Manama fish market.

They've released the wrong ones - Khawaja should be the one let out, while Bin Laden and Co. are best off behind bars or on a flight to Guantanamo.

This is really poor. It strikes me like the government's throwing something to the Sunni extremists in order to counterbalance Shia anger over Khawaja.

Scorpio, your mind seems to be obsessed with dreams of Salafis. Take a break (have a KitKat).

Also, I'd appreciate if you would keep your comments clean from now on. I really don't want to have to be deleting people's comments.
